OUR APPROACH

About TN Erosion Inspections

We believe our clients deserve timely and accurate inspections, reports, and deliverables. We provide clients and communities lasting value by inspecting sediment and erosion controls that keep Tennessee Waters of the State safe.

Qualified TNEPSC Inspectors

Our inspectors are qualified under the Tennessee Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control (TNEPSC) program, which meets Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) requirements.

Weekly Site Inspections

Our TNEPSC-certified personnel will conduct SWPPP Inspections on your site weekly in accordance with the NPDES Construction General Permit, including all mandatory inspection areas outlined.

Post-Construction Inspections

Our services are not limited to sites undergoing construction. Our inspectors can monitor your permanent stormwater structures, including detention ponds, to ensure long-term functionality.

  • In accordance with the 2021 NPDES Construction General Permit (CGP), TNEPSC SWPPP Inspections by qualified personnel are required twice weekly, performed at least 72 hours apart on applicable Construction Sites after construction activities begin. Our inspectors are qualified under the Tennessee Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control (TNEPSC) program, which meets Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) requirements.

Our inspection scope includes the following to keep you in compliance with 2021 NPDES CGP requirements: Inspect disturbed areas of the construction site that have not been permanently stabilized, areas used for storage of materials that are exposed to precipitation, structural control measures, and locations where vehicles enter or exit the site and each outfall. Inspect disturbed areas and areas used for storage of materials that are exposed to precipitation for evidence of, or the potential for, pollutants entering the site’s drainage system. Inspect outfall points to determine whether EPSC measures are effectively preventing sediment discharges off-site or impacts to receiving waters.

  • Our qualified inspectors and field personnel are educated on the proper installation, maintenance, and inspection of erosion prevention, sediment control, and stormwater measures on active and stabilized construction sites. Our inspectors are well-versed in best practices for managing erosion and sediment, which is crucial for protecting the environment, particularly our waterways.

    Importance of Erosion Prevention

Erosion is a natural process, but it can be significantly accelerated by activities such as farming, timber harvesting, and construction. In Tennessee, thousands of acres of land are exposed during construction and land development each year. Without properly installed protective measures, these activities can lead to severe erosion and sediment runoff, negatively impacting our rivers, creeks, and streams.

    Key Benefits of Erosion Inspections:

✓ Environmental Protection: Certified inspectors play a critical role in safeguarding waterways by preventing sediment-laden runoff, which can degrade water quality and harm aquatic ecosystems.
✓ Regulatory Compliance: Inspections allow construction sites comply with local and state regulations, including the Tenneessee 2021 NPDES Construction General Permit, which requires twice weekly inspections by qualified personnel.
✓ Quality Construction Projects: Implementing proper erosion and sediment control measures is a hallmark of a quality construction project, ensuring the stability and longevity of the environment.
✓ Community Health: Preventing erosion and sediment runoff helps maintain clean and healthy waterways, benefiting both the environment and the communities that rely on these water resources.
